"How much is an ounce?" is one of the first questions every cannabis shopper learns to ask — and in Ontario the honest answer is it depends, a lot. The same 28 grams can cost $75 or $300 depending on where you shop and what grade you're buying. Here's how the pricing actually works, and how to make sure you're getting value.

Cannabis is sold in metric, but everyone still talks in imperial. The conversions to know:

The key principle: price per gram drops as quantity rises. A gram bought as a gram might cost $10+; the same flower inside an ounce might work out to $3–5 per gram. If you know what you like, buying bigger is the single easiest way to save.

Adults 19+ can possess up to 30 grams of dried cannabis in public — slightly more than an ounce. At home, there's no possession cap in Ontario.
Not necessarily — it's usually smalls or a value harvest rather than anything wrong. Potency is often respectable; you're mostly giving up bud size and bag appeal.
