The Arithmetic

A carton is 200 cigarettes — either 8 packs of 25 or 10 packs of 20.

At $17.25 a carton, that's about 8.6 cents a cigarette. A $130 carton in Brampton is 65 cents each. Even the premium $70 tier lands at 35 cents.

Menthol

Menthol cigarettes were pulled from Ontario retail shelves by provincial law. That law governs provincial retail — it doesn't reach sales on Six Nations territory, so Canadian Menthol is stocked here at $17.25 and has been throughout.
