A tincture (or oil) is cannabis extract dissolved in a carrier oil, usually MCT. You take it under the tongue (sublingually): hold the drops there for 60–90 seconds, then swallow. The extract absorbs through the tissue under your tongue and reaches your bloodstream faster than food ever could.
That gives tinctures a unique middle-ground profile:

How long until I feel drops under the tongue? Most people: 15–45 minutes. Always judge at the 60-minute mark, never sooner.
Can I put tincture in food or coffee? Yes — it just becomes an edible: slower onset (30–120 min), same duration. Fine on purpose, frustrating by accident.
Will CBD oil get me high? No. CBD is non-intoxicating. Only THC and balanced oils produce a high.
How strong is one drop? Depends entirely on the bottle's total mg and size — do the mg-per-dropper math above for your specific bottle. When in doubt, start with less than you think.
